My name is Sarah Wolfer

And I am a licensed psychotherapist who is passionate about working with queer, non-monogamous, and neurodivergent humans, probably because these are all important identities that I hold and I want to help my communities heal. I have seen the transformative power that therapy can play in our healing journeys and I am prepared to help you and your polycule along your own healing journeys, here in paradise. Sometimes, we need something more than therapy in an office once a week, and this is what this therapy retreat in paradise can do for you. Come relax and work through what you need to heal here... and we will take care of the rest.

Polycule Private Therapy Retreat

Imagine this: You and your partners (and metamours) decide to take a “therapy vacation” to this scenic beach town in Mexico where you will receive 15 hours of therapy sessions, activities, and discussions, all tailored to your relationship and your unique therapeutic needs. This specialized therapy retreat is equivalent to 4 months of therapy work in the office, but instead you can work on your therapy goals (and your relationships) in a safe, nurturing, and relaxing beachside private resort, with our team ready to help you every step of the way.

Here's what it would look like:

Pre-Retreat

Prior to the retreat, you and your partners/metamours will complete a couples therapy assessment so we can get an idea of how to customize this therapy retreat for you and your unique relationship needs and goals. After the assessment is complete, we will schedule a pre-retreat, 90 minute virtual therapy session to ensure we are on the same page about what we will be working on together during your stay. This will mark the official start of your therapeutic journey with Paradise Wellness.

Day 1
Arrival

Fly into Puerto Escondido airport and check-in at your new ocean front home anytime after 3pm for the next few days. Once settled in, we will check in for a 1 hour therapy introduction and schedule walk-through and you will then have the rest of the evening to get settled in.

Day 2+3
Therapy Intensive

Wake up with the sun shining on your face and have a nice calm morning with a gourmet plant-based breakfast and coffee prepared just for you. We will spend a couple hours together in the morning for our therapy session before you have a break to process and reflect on what we discussed. Lunch will be prepared for you in the early afternoon before we meet again for another few hours of therapy, activities, and discussion, customized for you and your therapeutic needs. In between the sessions, you will recieve a private and/or a partner(s) massage to help you process and reflect on what you have been working on. You will then have the evening to yourself, with dinner served in the early evening each day. There will be a total of 5 therapy hours each day on days 2-3.

Day 4
Departure

On our final day together, you will wake up, enjoy your breakfast and coffee, and we will then meet for a final therapy session to reflect on and process everything you learned and healed during your stay. We will come up with some goals for how to bring these insights into your everyday life, after the therapy retreat is complete. You will then check out by 12pm and can extend your stay in Puerto Escondido if you like, or you can fly back home through the Puerto Escondido airport.

Post Retreat

We will provide you with supplemental materials to take home with you at the conclusion of your retreat. We will also reconnect virtually about a month after your retreat ends from the comfort of your own home to talk about how it's been going for you. In this 90 minute virtual therapy session, we will engage in meaningful discussion, share progress, and set future goals to help support your ongoing journey towards self-discovery and wellbeing.

Towards a Healthier Non-Monogamous Relationship

Prior to therapy, each partner will be granted access to the Gottman Relationship Checkup, an online assessment tool designed by Drs. John and Julie Gottman in collaboration with The Gottman Institute in Seattle, Washington. This comprehensive evaluation consists of 480 questions across categories like Friendship and Intimacy, Conflict Scales, Shared Meaning System, and Individual Areas of Concern. Covering aspects like friendship, intimacy, conflict, finances, children, trust, commitment, and individual issues, the assessment is conducted confidentially, allowing me, as your clinician, to tailor specific areas of improvement based on the results. While the overall assessment takes about one and a half hours, you can work on it incrementally, with suggestions to integrate self-care activities such as dinner reservations and childcare arrangements to enhance your focus on the process.

Who is this for?

This Private Polycule Therapy Retreat is best suited for partners who are queer, non-monogamous, or neurodivergent and are...

01

Encountering difficulties in their recent relationship arrangements

This space is designed to cater to complex relationship networks facing hurdles as they traverse the uncharted territories of novel relationship structures. Whether it's the intricacies of communication or the balance of competing emotions, this retreat offers a supportive environment for those navigating the complexities of their evolving relationships.

02

Multiple partners grappling with boundary issues

For individuals engaged in relationships with multiple partners, this retreat extends a helping hand to address the nuanced difficulties surrounding boundaries. Be it defining personal space, clarifying expectations, or establishing agreements, we understand the intricacies involved in maintaining healthy boundaries within the dynamics of polyamorous connections.

03

Partners aiming to reconstruct the basis of their polyamorous relationship

Recognizing that relationships evolve over time, this retreat is a valuable resource for partners seeking to embark on a journey of rebuilding the foundational elements of their polyamorous bonds. Whether it's reigniting shared values, redefining commitments, or rediscovering mutual goals, we provide a supportive space for polycules navigating the process of revitalizing their relationship core.

04

Multiple partners expressing a desire to make adjustments in their relationships

Change is inevitable in any relationship, and for those with multiple partners, this retreat is attuned to the aspirations of partners seeking to introduce adjustments into their interconnected dynamics. Whether it's exploring new dynamics, renegotiating roles, or adapting to evolving needs, we offer a space for partners to express and navigate the transformative aspects of their relationships.

Who is this not for?

This Private Polycule Therapy Retreat is not suited for those who are NOT queer, non-monogamous, or neurodivergent OR those who are...

01

Unable to commit to the intensive nature of this process.

This particular retreat involves an intensive approach. Therefore, it might not be the most fitting choice for partners who are unable or hesitant to fully commit to the comprehensive and immersive nature of the therapeutic process we offer.

02

Still exploring the idea of a non-monogamous relationship

This program may not align with the needs of couples who are in the initial stages of contemplating a polyamorous relationship. We recommend exploring alternative Therapy Retreat options better suited to those who are still in the process of considering and defining the dynamics of their relationships.

03

Navigating domestic violence or untreated mental health or substance use

This retreat may not align with the specific needs of relationships contending with domestic violence, as our focus is on fostering a safe and supportive environment. Similarly, individuals dealing with untreated mental health or substance use challenges might find alternative programs better suited to address their specific therapeutic requirements and ensure a more comprehensive and tailored approach to their well-being.

04

Lacking a commitment to the therapeutic journey

For this therapeutic journey to be most effective, a strong commitment is crucial. Partners who may not be fully committed to actively engaging in the therapeutic process might find that alternative approaches better suit their preferences and readiness for the transformative journey ahead.
