Virtual Life and Relationship Coaching
As long as we can find a session time that works for us both, then I am happy to work with you. Psychotherapy and Coaching have a lot of overlap in how I provide these services, but there are some key differences.
Coaching is best suited to people who are stable and have a baseline of wellness, but are looking for growth or deeper healing in their lives. Coaching is not rooted in the treatment of disorders, and is more directive & less neutral - meaning you'll probably feel more like you're sitting down with a wise friend than a patient of clinical mental health services. Transformational coaching, specifically, is a holistic and existential approach to healing that dives deep into your being, exploring the shadow & light, so that you can embody your highest self. Coaching may be right for you if you're looking for therapy or healing that moves beyond the medical model. Nearly all of my coaching clients choose to enter a coaching relationship because you get the benefits of counseling, but with more freedom and autonomy. Plus, I can work with coaching clients anywhere in the world!
Therapy, or professional mental health counseling, on a system wide level, tends to focus more on the observation, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health disorders rather than pursuing mental health wellness. Therapy is rooted in the medical model of disease, meaning it views clients as sick patients and puts therapists in the role of the expert.
Though this isn’t how I practice as a psychotherapist, it’s important to understand the foundation in which therapy is rooted. Furthermore, therapy models were predominantly founded by privileged white cisgender heterosexual men, so mental health diagnoses often ignore the impacts of systemic & societal issues like oppression, trauma, and culture on each and every one of us. In order to keep therapists in the role of “expert” there are many imposed boundaries and walls that force separation and limit human-to-human connection. For all of these reasons, I like to offer coaching services to my clients in addition to my psychotherapy services. I also do not provide acute care, or therapy for clients in crisis or dealing with severe mental health issues at this time.
I provide coaching services for people who are, LGBTQIA+, neurodivergent, partner(s), and/or curious about or engaged in non-monogamous relationships and are looking for a little help to navigate life and relationships. I also provide coaching around psychedelic preparation and integration and would be happy to discuss this with you as well.
Sessions are 50 or 75 minutes in length and are $165 or $245 USD per session. I have a limited number of sliding scale spots available for clients who are unable to afford the full session cost at this time. Reach out to me at info@courageousyou.us to get on the waiting list for these spots.

How it works:
I believe it's possible to move from survival mode to a place of ease. You can thrive, live your purpose and find your joy … even in these challenging times.
You might be wondering what coaching with me looks like, and it’s a good question.
While I bring clinical expertise, you are the expert on your own life and our collaboration in healing is everything. I show up as a real person and believe that everyone is doing the best they can, when they can. I’ll help you identify your strengths, cultivate your internal and external resources, and make concrete plans that are in line with your goals.
In your coaching with me, we also look at how our world shapes us. This means looking at social/cultural factors and political influences and their influence on how you got to where you are. At the same time, we will take a look at your unique life blueprint and how the experiences you’ve had (both the positive and the challenging ones) helped to create your current reality.
I then use a mix of out-of-the-box and evidence-based practices to help my clients get to where they want to be.
These May Include:
-
Parts work from the Internal Family Systems Model
