2025 Openings for Clinical Supervision

Writer's picture: Sarah Wolfer, LICSWSarah Wolfer, LICSW

As a licensed independent clinical social worker (LICSW), a psychotherapist and a relationship therapist, and a ketamine-assisted therapist, I am dedicated to creating a supportive environment where therapists can thrive and develop their skills. I have been in clinical supervisory roles since 2014 across a variety of settings and have been an approved clinical supervisor for WA state associates with the Department of Health since 2021.

The first half of my career I spent in community mental health settings, providing clinical supervision in child and family mental health, an outreach team to those experiencing homelessness with severe and persistent mental illness, and a crisis center, among others. I then switched to private practice in 2019 where I now mostly work with those who are part of the LGBTQIA+, Non-Monogamous, and/or Neurodivergent communities.

What I Offer

I can work with social workers, marriage and family therapists, and mental health counselors. All my supervision services are via Telehealth only.

Individual and Group Supervision

I provide both individual and group supervision that is tailored to meet your unique needs and professional goals. My approach is collaborative, fostering an open dialogue that helps you receive the support necessary to become a confident and competent clinician.

Upcoming Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy Clinical Supervision GroupJoin me for an innovative supervision group that focuses on the fundamentals of psychedelic-assisted therapy. This group will provide a fantastic opportunity to explore advancements in this groundbreaking approach while benefiting from the shared insights of fellow practitioners.

LGBTQIA+ Clinical Supervision Group Launching in 2025I am proud to announce the introduction of a specialized supervision group for LGBTQIA+ therapists. This group aims to create a safe and inclusive environment for discussing the unique clinical challenges and experiences that members of the LGBTQIA+ community face.

"Build Your Own" Clinical Supervision GroupsIf you and some colleagues are interested in establishing a customized supervision experience, we can create "Build Your Own" groups tailored to your specific needs and goals. This flexible option allows for discussions to be dictated by the interests of the group.

Structuring Supervision for Success

To ensure effective and meaningful supervision, I implement several key strategies:

  • Quarterly Professional Development Plans: Together, we will create individualized professional development plans every quarter to set clear goals, assess progress, and identify new learning opportunities. This structured approach keeps you accountable and focused on your growth.

  • Focused Skill Acquisition: Our sessions will include targeted discussions around specific clinical skills that you want to enhance. This might involve case consultations, role-playing, and analysis of therapeutic techniques to build your confidence in various areas of practice.

  • Reflective Practice: I encourage self-reflection as a vital tool for personal and professional growth. Expect to engage in thoughtful discussions about your experiences, challenges, and successes, fostering insight that strengthens your practice.

Why You Would Be a Good Fit

Supervisees who seek a supportive and dynamic supervisory experience will thrive under my guidance. You may find my supervision style particularly beneficial if you:

  • Are eager to develop your clinical skills, especially in innovative areas like psychedelic-assisted therapy.

  • Identify as LGBTQIA+ and seek a supervisor who understands the unique complexities of working within this community.

  • Appreciate a collaborative approach and are open to engaging in reflective practice and constructive feedback.

  • Wish to take an active role in shaping your professional development and want to explore customized supervision options.

What to Expect

Working with me, you can expect:

  • A safe and supportive space where you can discuss your cases, concerns, and aspirations openly.

  • Constructive feedback that focuses on your strengths while identifying growth areas.

  • Resources, readings, and tools to support your professional development.

  • Regular check-ins to evaluate progress and adjust your goals as needed.

My 2025 Rates

My individual supervision rate is $150/session, however I also offer 4-session packages for $500 (equaling $125 per session). For groups with 2 participants, my rate is $80 per person, and for groups of 3 or more my rate is $60 per person.
